Youth Leadership Institute

YLI is a youth-led and highly interactive leadership development program designed to empower and engage youth, ages 11-13.

The PURPOSE is to develop Leadership Skills using a “Learn by DOING Approach” via
Interactive Workshops, Youth-led Meetings, Committee Leadership and Decision Making.


The CURRICULUM is designed to develop and enhance leadership and social skills.
Participants will have the opportunity to participate in monthly workshops and activities
To successfully complete the program and be recognized as a graduate of the institute,
participants will be required to attend and fully engage in meetings and activities,
complete a community service project, an environmental project and a final presentation.

Meetings
The Institute will begin in August 2023 and will continue through June 2024. Meetings
will be held monthly on the fourth Sunday of each month from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the
Alachua County Library Headquarters located at 401 E University Ave, Gainesville, FL
32601.
