Service and sisterhood have been cornerstones of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® since 1908. Mu Upsilon Omega brings the administration’s six initiatives to life through focused programs in Gainesville and Alachua County.

It is a joy to serve Mu Upsilon Omega and to work alongside sisters who give so generously of their time and talents. As Vice President, I help guide the execution of our chapter programs, turning thoughtful plans into opportunities to serve our neighbors in Gainesville and Alachua County.
Every program is a chance to listen, build relationships, and let someone know they matter. I am grateful for the members and community partners who bring their energy and care to this work. Together, we can make each act of service feel personal and each opportunity to connect count.

Strengthen Our Sisterhood serves as the foundation initiative, supporting the bonds that make the chapter’s service mission possible. Five additional initiatives focus that collective strength on families, economic opportunity, the environment, social justice, and local community impact.
Building lifelong relationships rooted in affinity, love, trust, respect, and shared goals while strengthening our foundation to serve others.
A multigenerational approach to strengthening families through hunger relief, youth development, mental well-being, and support for senior members.
Equipping members and communities with strategies that support personal, organizational, and community economic advancement.
Promoting sustainable and responsible practices that protect natural resources and improve the places where our communities live.
Giving communities the tools, knowledge, and support needed to activate their voices and advocate for fairness and equity.
Celebrating service excellence, collaboration, and local change that creates a wider impact across the community.
YLI is a youth-led, highly interactive development program for ages 11–13. Through workshops, youth-led meetings, committee leadership, and decision-making, participants strengthen leadership and social skills while completing community service, environmental, and presentation projects.
Chapter members provide focused leadership for each initiative and its local programs.
